  11. My most grateful thanks to Andreas Walter with the StrongARM OS_File
  12. incompatibility problems which plagued Wimp2 for so long.

  14. There are now two Wimp2 modules in this archive - the ROM and non-ROM
  15. versions. The ROM version doesn't write into itself, and so obviously is
  16. suitable for running from a read-only medium. However, it was the OS_File
  17. patch code which wrote into the module (very necessary with patches unless
  18. you use "magic" memory locations unfortunately), so effectively the ROM
  19. version doesn't preempt OS_File operations and the normal one does.

  21. Lastly, the Wimp patch side of things by Andrew Teirney is not included in
  22. this release. At the time of writing, it is at v0.23 and includes some
  23. improvements to the Wimp messaging model which has caused a number of
  24. applications problems, so make sure you download it. It's available from
  25. the Wimppatch website which is linked to by the Wimp2 home page.

  27. Finally, please submit Wimp2 compatibility reports so others can see the
  28. successes and failures of programs. A link to the compatibility site
  29. (maintained by Henry Morgan) is available off the Wimp2 website.
